It was a big week in Saudi for us! The biggest part of our week was our little Elsa girl turning 3 years old! It is so hard to believe that she is already 3!! She is such a sweet, loving, caring big sister, sassy, opinionated little girl with the world's best facial expressions. I think she is going to give us a run for our money! When she woke up that morning, I asked her how old she was. And very matter of factly, she responded, "5." Well, big girl, you are getting older, but you can't grow up that fast! We had a very fun day celebrating our little girl! We had some friends over after lunch to decorate princess cookies and play! Then, when daddy got home, we had cake and opened presents. Below are some pictures from our day celebrating her!

Another big part of our week was attending Soren's sports day at his school. There are 3 classes of KG1 (kindergarden 1) and each child was assigned one of five colors to represent five teams. Soren was assigned to be on the blue team and was very excited to wear his blue shirt, blue shorts, blue socks, and blue shoes! He was ready to play! They had 5 stations that each team got to rotate through. There was a parachute, an obstacle course, a ball toss, a scooter race, and a potato sack race. The girls and I followed Soren around and got some great pictures of him in action! To end the sports day, they had a tug of war between the teams where they also invited parents to participate if they wanted. Since I was conveniently wearing Kjerstin, I opted out of this portion. But, it was fun to watch the parents get into it! I think they were more competitive than the kids!!! Below are some pictures from his fun day!

Yesterday, we got to celebrate Ryan's birthday!!! Although he isn't nearly as enthusiastic as our 3 year old, it was fun to spend the day together as a family before he starts turnaround. For the next 6 weeks, he will be working 12 hour shifts. He has a few weeks of day shifts and a few weeks of night shifts. So, we were glad we got to celebrate daddy before he starts working really hard!
And finally, drum roll please.......we got our air shipment!!!!! After weeks of sitting at the port, it had finally cleared customs on Monday night. Usually it takes about a week after clearing customs to get delivered, so we weren't expecting it to be delivered so quickly. But, thankfully it arrived on Elsa's birthday, which worked out perfectly, since all her presents were packed in our air shipment! We quickly opened all the boxes and unloaded everything. The kids were so excited to see their toys again! It was like Christmas morning, but we didn't have to buy anything!!! It is really starting to feel like home here!!!
