After a 10 week summer back in the states, a week and a half vacation in Norway, we are finally back HOME! We had a wonderful time seeing all our friends and family this summer, but we were ready to come home and be with Daddy/Hubs again! (I will try to write a post about our trip to Norway sometime in the near future as well!) We have been back in the Kingdom for about a month now and have settled in very quickly. The first couple of weeks back, we were able to just unpack and relax. We went to the pool, watched movies at another compound, and played with friends that we missed over the summer! It was a great few weeks, but we were ready for a routine!
On September 10th, we were able to go into Soren's school and meet his kindergarten teacher, while also exploring his classroom. His teacher, Ms. Senekal, was very nice and he was excited to begin school! The next day, September 11th, was his official first day of kindergarten! I was the bus monitor the first week of school (a mom is always on the bus with our kiddos to make sure we have everyone!) so I got to walk him in! He had a few tears (which made me have to choke back my plethora of tears) and I reminded him how much fun he was going to have! I gave him a big squeeze and off he went with his buddies! He has come home everyday since then with a big smile on his face! He is adjusting wonderfully and loves going to school! I just can't believe we have a kindergartener!! Where did the time go?!
Elsa started her playschool on the compound the same day and goes there one to two times a week. She loves seeing other kids and playing with different toys. I think her favorite part though, is riding the bus, because she gets to be just like Soren. Sweet girl loves and misses her big brother!!!
Kjerstin has been learning lots of new things too! She is crawling on all fours, climbing up the set of two stairs in our downstairs level, pulling up to standing, growing lots of new teeth, and just started saying words! Of course, her first word wasn't "mama" or "dada"....it was "uh oh." The funny thing is a lot of times she uses it correctly!! She will drop something, look at you with concerned eyes, and say with the cutest face, "uh oh." She is so proud of all the new things she is doing! She is such a happy little baby and we are so glad she is a part of our family!
Below are some pictures from the last few weeks!
