Its been a while....

Well, it has been a while since our last post.  And, once again, a lot has happened.  We finally closed on our house in Texas and became homeowners once again!  Both of our moms flew down for a week to help us with Soren while we closed and moved our stuff in.  It was definitely helpful to have them here.  We were able to get a lot done while they played with Soren.   We now have all of the boxes unpacked, except for the garage.  It feels nice to be in our home again.  Since we have moved in, we have also registered our cars in Texas, changed our license plates to Texas plates and we got Texas driver's licenses.  I guess you can call us Texans now.  Although, I think we will always be Iowans/Minnesotans at heart.

Ryan continues to enjoy his job.  He has been there for over 2 months now, which is very hard to believe.  I have continued to try to get to know people.  Soren and I go to the library twice a week for playtime.  We sing songs and play with new toys.  He gets a kick out of watching all the other little kids.  I have also joined a running club that meets on Saturday mornings.  It has been a lot of fun meeting new people and running with them!  We continue to look for a church.  We actually went to a new church last weekend.  During the sermon, Soren decided that it was perfect timing to blow out of his diaper.  And, I don't just mean a minor blowout.  We are talking HUGE.  It got all over me and all over the pew.  There's a new meaning for church pew!  So, we quietly cleaned up his mess using half a pack of wipes and then tried to leave quickly.  Oh the things you will do for your child!  I think we will be waiting to go back to that church for a few weeks.  Hopefully all those who say us will forget!

As always, Soren continues to grow and change everyday.  He is now rolling over quite often, including at night.  We have a stomach sleeper on our hands.  I guess that is no surprise, since both of his parents are stomach sleepers.  He is also starting to sit up some.  We still have to watch him when he sits up or he will topple over.  He smiles lots during the day and is now even giggling.  It is such a heart warming sound to hear your own little boy laugh!  Oh the joy it brings to us!  He will turn 6 months this month, which is so hard to believe.  We have finally moved out of 3 month clothes and into 6 month clothes.  We are also finally figuring out somewhat of a routine during the day.  He is starting to take more consistent naps and has figured out his bedtime as well.  He loves to read books and play all day.  We are still amazed at how good of a little boy we have.

We are enjoyed Texas so far, except for being far away from family.  It is nice that technology allows us to "see" our family, even being hundreds of miles apart.  Below are some pictures of Soren over the past few weeks.  However, I just realized that we really don't have that many.  It has been a busy couple of weeks.  Anyway, enjoy!  I will post more often now that we are more settled!

The house is officially ours!

Soren reading his book!  He loves to turn the pages.
